How was Smokers’ Quit Class developed?

Smokers’ Quit Class was created by a tobacco treatment specialist who has helped over two hundred clients in their journey to quit nicotine. The concepts and approaches used in this course were designed to help clients overcome the behavioral and emotional patterns of tobacco use and find solutions to the obstacles they face. It is hoped that through this course more individuals will achieve the peace of mind and body that they truly desire.


Who should participate in the course?

Smokers’ Quit Class is designed for adults who want to quit tobacco or nicotine. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. The course should not be used to help people quit any other substance or treat any other addiction. The information contained in this course is designed for people in good physical and mental health. You are solely responsible for contacting a licensed health care provider about any questions or concerns regarding your physical or mental readiness to quit tobacco and to help discern whether this course is appropriate for you. Can the course be used to help quit e-cigarettes or other forms of tobacco?

Yes. While the word ‘cigarette’ is used throughout the course, it can also refer to other forms of tobacco or nicotine as needed, including e-cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chew, snuff, etc.

What does the course contain?

Smokers’ Quit Class consists of six video tutorials that guide you step-by-step through the quit process from start to finish.

 

How long does the course take to complete?

The course is designed to be completed within 2-3 weeks with approximately 30 minutes of training per week, however, since all tutorials can be viewed at your own pace, it is understood that some people may choose to take more or less time to complete the course depending on their individual needs and schedule.
